creative supervision
Creative supervision is a method of supervision that incorporates creative and expressive arts techniques to enhance the learning and development of supervisees. It moves beyond traditional talk-based approaches by utilizing tools like storytelling, role-playing, guided imagery, and various art forms to explore client work, address unconscious processes, and foster personal and professional growth.

How can Creatrix Counselling help?
I work with and integrate elements of the CRAFTS Model of Creative Supervision which can help us to explore your work through a creative lens. Here is an example of how the model works in practice:
Creativity: I bring creative methods into our supervision space to encourage fresh thinking and deeper insight. Whether through art materials, imagery, colour, metaphor, or playful techniques, these creative tools help us access unconscious material and explore client work with added depth and perspective.
Reflective:Reflective practice is at the heart of how we work together both in-session and in-between. We’ll take time to consider what’s going well, what feels tricky, and what your internal responses are telling you. Drawing inspiration from Proctor’s model, on self-awareness and personal development, we’ll explore how the work impacts you and how to ensure you feel supported, resourced.
Awareness: Awareness is a tool for deepening your practice and in supervision means paying close attention to your feelings, responses, and the dynamics within the therapeutic relationship. Using the Seven-Eyed Model we’ll explore what’s going on beneath the surface, emotionally, relationally, and systemically, and how these experiences can inform your understanding of the client and the work.
Focused: We will collaborate on a focus for each session. Whether we’re reviewing specific client material, exploring personal bias and beliefs or identifying development goals, I will support and challenge when needed, and always return to the heart of the work: ensuring safe, effective, and ethical client care while supporting learning and growth.
Transformative: Whether it’s increased autonomy, clearer boundaries, or a deepened sense of self, the supervision space is here to help nurture meaningful change for you and, in turn, through the process, your clients.
Systemic: Together, we can look at the wider picture to help recognise the social, cultural,
historical, and relational contexts that shape your work. Inspired by the systemic elements of the Seven-Eyed Model, we’ll reflect on any influences of social dynamics, organisations, family systems, and cultural dynamics and how they might show up in the room.
